About the role

We’re looking for a UX Researcher intern to join our growing team!
What you’ll do here:

  • Help inform our strategy and innovation efforts by providing insights into the needs of customers through qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Work closely with designers, product owners, data analysts and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize research opportunities.
  • Scope, plan, execute and manage research studies: customer and stakeholder interviews, usability tests, diary studies, surveys, competitive reviews, workshops, etc.
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources and translate research insights into actionable recommendations/design.
  • Working with our amazing designers, produce UX artifacts, such as customer journeys, personas and service blueprints that tell the true story of client experience across business lines and brands.
  • Present insights to stakeholders at all levels, from peers to executives.
  • Build connections with other teams within and outside Intact Lab to ensure past, current and future research is leveraged to its full potential.
  • Contribute to our UX Research practice by improving our processes, templates and communications, and sharing your knowledge with colleagues.
  • Advocate customer centricity throughout the organization.


What you bring to the table:

  • At least one year of experience in UX research, UX design, service design, market research, start-ups.
  • Demonstrated experience with both qualitative UX research methods: persona research, user interviews, user tests, contextual inquiry, etc.
  • Expertise in usability and user-centred design practices.
  • Experience with UX research tools (UserTesting.com, Optimal Workshop, Survey Monkey, etc.).
  • Experience with design tools (Sketch, Axure, Figma, InVision, Adobe Illustrator, etc.) is an asset.
  • Experience in data analytics or statistical analysis is an asset.
  • Passionate about unpacking and solving complex problems.
  • Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and can provide and receive constructive feedback.
  • Eager to continuously learn, try new tools and approaches, and improve your craft.
  • Proactive, comfortable working within a self-directed culture and navigating ambiguity.
  • Patient listener, effective communicator, engaging presenter and compelling storyteller.
  • Comfortable with interacting at different levels in the organization, from peers to senior management.
  • [Bilingual (French and English).] Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
