Job description

About Us

Our mission with the Top Down Fund is to meet the unique needs of early-stage SaaS founders who develop innovative and compelling products for the MSP market. By leveraging our tried-and-tested MSP SaaS playbook, we aim to establish a reliable and predictable model for value creation. This approach, combined with a strategic focus on exit strategies and viable off-ramps, is designed to maximize success for all stakeholders involved.

Our team directly addresses the challenges often faced by generalist VCs: securing access to premium MSP SaaS assets for robust deal flow and ensuring a perfect fit for successful outcomes. Moreover, leveraging our MSP industry network for exit planning, connecting ventures with qualified strategic and private equity buyers who are in search of mature 'Rule of 40' targets that promise predictable integration outcomes.

Our Values

We have built a culture based on three main principles in order to ensure we have an exciting, fun, and success-focused workplace:

  • Autonomy - We understand the greatest driver of productivity is pride in ownership of your work. So, you are empowered to innovate and work autonomously, with no micromanaging or hand-holding.
  • Performance - We are focused on the quality of work and results produced rather than the number of hours logged.
  • Passion - We are a team united by a common path to purpose, a team that works hard together and celebrates all of the successes along the way.

Responsibilities.

    • Research relevant public information and use key findings to benchmark valuation
  • Participate in or lead key due diligence activities conducted on target companies, including coordination and review of the work performed by third-party advisors (commercial, legal, financing, accounting, tax, etc)
  • Participate in the preparation of investment memorandums and presentation of recommendations to the investment committees
  • Support the Fund operations, including investor relations, ongoing portfolio company support, prospecting, data management, and marketing

Qualifications.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally at a venture capital firm, investment banking, private equity or startup

  • Strong aptitude in financial analysis and modeling, including the ability to assess historical and projected financial data and understand key valuation methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-risk environment.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring thoroughness in due diligence processes.
  • While not required, prior experience or exposure to the Managed Service Provider (MSP) industry would be considered a bonus.
  • A passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and driving success in early-stage ventures.

Perks, Perks, Perks.
