VENUE ASSISTANT
The Meadows is looking for a Venue Assistant to add to our team for this upcoming wedding season, with a starting date in April 2024. The successful candidate must have a friendly disposition, work well independently and with a team. The Meadows is a family run and operated all-inclusive wedding venue. Having outstanding staff is critical to providing an exceptional wedding experience for our clients. This position is 30-40 hours a week, with events May to December each year. You will work alongside business owners during the week to prepare the venue and property for upcoming events. The successful candidate will also assist coordinators and serve during weddings. Hourly pay is dependent on the candidates experience level. Your schedule for the year is provided before the wedding season begins to promote a healthy work-life balance!
R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S
- Provide exceptional customer service by presenting a positive and polite disposition
- Thoroughly clean venue (sweep, mop, clean bathrooms, wipe windows, dust, etc)
- Setup tables, chairs and décor by following planning documents filled out by the client
- Prepare outdoor spaces such as the pavilion by mopping, moving furniture and leaf blowing Setup ceremony location (setup fabric, move barrels, wipe benches, etc)
- Maintain gardens and flower baskets Pick up liquor order
- Serving during events (serving each course, clearing place settings, packing up décor, etc)
- Comfortable working the closing shift and performing closing duties during weddings
- Develop great working relationships with other staff (front + back of house)
Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S + R E Q U I R E M E N T S
- Experience in the hospitality industry an asset
- Reliable transportation Available most weekends
- Available to work roughly 6 hrs per weekday and 10-12 hrs on event days (with two day off a week)
- Smart Serve Certified
- Ability to lift over 40 lbs
- Detail oriented person with excellent time management skills
- Eager to achieve high quality service
- Open to receiving recommendations to improve performance
