Very Part Time Drawing Instructor for Children

*** This is a Very Part Time position. Teach 2 classes per week @ $50/class ***

Currently hiring for schools in Vancouver (West of Cambie) on Wednesdays and Thursdays between April 24 and June 13.

Young Rembrandts is a national award-winning after school drawing program. Our innovative step-by-step process teaches children basic drawing techniques. The curriculum encourages children to express their imaginations while improving motor skills, patience, focus, and ability to stay on task.

Young Rembrandts is seeking energetic and enthusiastic candidates who have had the responsibility for motivating groups of children and guiding their behaviour. Young Rembrandts will train qualified Instructors in the Young Rembrandts methodology and teaching technique.

Young Rembrandts offers classes in public and private elementary schools at the end of regular school day, as well as in community centres and preschools. Young Rembrandts Instructors should be available to teach 2 to 3 classes in the afternoon each week for the duration of the session (8 weeks). Instructors are assigned to specific schools and stay with the same schools and days of the week for the session, and preferably through the school year.

Job requirements:

• Good drawing skills
• Mature and highly dependable, on-time and commitment a MUST
• Experience leading groups of children
• Criminal background check
• Must be able to setup/take down chairs and tables when required
• Must be able to stand for 1-2 hours

NOTES:

• This is a very light part-time position, teach 2 lessons per week.
• Compensation: $50 per lesson.
• Each lesson lasts about 1h, but setup and cleanup is also included in the lesson pay.
• Currently hiring for the Winter session (mid January to mid March).
