Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Medical Scribe. As a Medical Scribe, you will be transcribing patient encounters and working with our R&D team to improve clinical document generation. You will receive training and be able to work with Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve the quality and efficiency of clinical operations. The position is a full-time long-term position with a minimum 1-year contract. Qualified candidates need to have prior medical experience or scribe training, and eligibility for employment within Canada is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Virtually attend patient encounters and accurately transcribe details into clinical documents.
- Accurately document patient encounters, including medical histories, symptoms, treatments, and other relevant information.
- Review and provide feedback on clinical documents including but not limited to, SOAP notes, consult letters, referrals and patient handouts.
- Participate in the development of content and tools to support clinical documentation.
- Provide feedback/answers to the product team as a domain specialist.
- Manage documentation to support clinical team functions and ensure the high quality of clinical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and PIPEDA, within the Canadian and United States federal and provincial/state jurisdictions.
- Conduct pre-employment tests, such as typing tests, and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
- Follow established protocols and guidelines for medical documentation
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- 2-5 years of experience as a medical scribe.
- Experience with and knowledge of diverse clinical documentation, including SOAP format, consult letters, and patient handouts etc.
- Experience with multiple medical specialties is an asset.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately transcribe information
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in using computers and technology
- Proficient typing skills, to be verified through pre-employment testing.
- Active Social Insurance Number.
- Willingness to undergo a criminal background check.
- Native in English and proficiency in a second language is considered a strong bonus.
- A driven, self-motivated, empathetic individual with a team-player attitude.
- Able to provide a reference.
Note: All positions must be paid, including internship positions.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
