The City of Swift Current is accepting applications for the position of Visitor Service Coordinator for the Swift Current Museum in the Community Services Division. This is a permanent full-time in-scope position.
Under the direction of the General Manager of Cultural and Aquatic Services, this position will be responsible for routine administrative tasks, providing tourism information, assisting with the gift shop, gathering basic visitor data, program registration, providing details about Museum exhibits and events.
Basic Requirements:
Successful completion of Grade 12;
Willingness to become Safe Places - Aware Certified;
Good working knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment;
Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public;
Ability to adapt and take initiative to meet community and department needs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
Flexible to work outside of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. including evenings and weekends.
Desirable Requirements:
Minimum on (1) year experience in Museum, Tourism or Customer Service industries;
Enrolled in or completed a certificate in Business/Office Administration from a recognized community college, technical or vocational school or institute;
Customer Service Training;
General knowledge of city amenities, regional information and understanding of sports, recreation and culture organizations; and
Knowledge Xplore Recreation computer systems.
