Zurich Canada is currently looking for a VP, Planning and Performance Management to lead the financial Planning and Performance Management activities across multiple business and functional units for the organization.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, Zurich Canada, and working closely with the business unit leadership, you will lead and direct a high-performing team of financial analysts.

What you will do

• Direct and develop financial analysis, and business insights to key stakeholders to drive effective decision making and contribute to maximizing the performance of the business unit.
• Lead the delivery of robust and challenging annual financial plans and expense budgets for the business unit in order to drive continual performance improvements.
• Work with senior management on daily basis to develop and expand business opportunities and long-term strategic relationships.
• Direct preparation and/or analysis of all business unit financial results
• Work cross-functionally and partner with key internal and external stakeholders to develop an in-depth understanding of business drivers which enable robust challenge across the different lines of business and support business optimization.
• Lead operating, strategic, and profitability reviews from the finance perspective on behalf of the business unit.
• Lead expense management for the country, working with the Chief Financial Officer and Executive team to generate and deliver both operational and strategic initiatives to ensure short- and long-term achievement of key expense targets.
• Direct the financial policy with the business unit and in support of Zurich's control environment.
• Manage team of analyst level direct reports, setting direction, assessing and managing performance, as well as providing oversight and coaching to support continuous learning and development.

What you bring to the table

Bachelors Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Financial Planning and Analysis or Reporting area

AND

Experience providing strategic financial insight and consultation to business leadership
People management experience

Preferred

• Insurance industry experience
• CPA, CPCU, CFA, CTP or MBA
• Strong analytical skills, and strong Microsoft Office experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
