ABOUT US:
The Tremendis Group of Companies has several brands representing distinct business units including Actus (formerly DMPG) and DMark Biosciences.
Actus is seeking a Warehouse Associate to join our Shipping/Receiving team in a full-time role. This position will report directly to the Operations Manager.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
- Oversee the shipping, receiving, and logistics of all products coming and leaving the warehouse
- Coordinate with the Purchasing and Customer Service teams to run the warehouse efficiently
- Ensure site safety and maintenance
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overall Management
- Responsible for working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures
- Manage cycle counts for inventory which would include scheduling frequency and timing as to when this will take place for which product category
- Prepare count sheets and schedule staffing for cycle counts when required
- Manage cleanliness and general order of the warehouse; oversee what is in the warehouse and its purpose
- Investigate unknown skids or shipments
- Label every skid in the warehouse with listed counts
- Consolidate and organize individual product lines on skids and racking, as per commodity location
- Organize unused pallets in a safe manner
- Pick orders
- Schedule warehouse equipment maintenance (i.e., forklift) when necessary
- Schedule waste and recycle pick up as required
- Manage cleanliness of the lot outside in the rear of the warehouse
- Provide mentorship and training to other shipping/receiving staff
- Maintenance of licenses and training documentation (i.e., forklift, working at heights, racking)
- Ensure vacation schedules are coordinated with other members of shipping team
- Oversee warehouse and system inventory by conducting physical inventory counts and investigations for discrepancies
- Create inventory adjustments and transfers in ERP
- Physical labour will be required – must be capable of lifting 25-50lbs
Receiving / Incoming Freight
- Organize, arrange, and train external workers, as necessary (e.g.: offloading containers)
- Receive shipments the same day as they arrive and confirm counts received match packing slip
- Use ERP system to receive goods into system inventory
- Regularly check open orders report for backorders
- Assisting with offloading containers when necessary
- Note discrepancies (i.e.: damages/shortages) on the receiving reports and flag to Operations team
- Process receiving shipment: organize cargo in racking accordingly
- Prepare receiving reports and distribute to all related staff
Shipping / Outgoing Freight
- Utilize ERP system to update sales order status and print packing slips
- Prepare packing slips for outgoing shipments; ensure orders are picked accurately and according to the packing slip
- Coordinate skids/goods to ship out in accordance timeline
- Assist with picking and organizing orders for dispatch
- Review finished shipments for accuracy before loading onto trucks
- Responsible for booking local deliveries (inland freight)
- Update Sales and Customer Service teams on shipment location, delivery timing when necessary
- Communicate with customers to advise when goods are ready for pick up
- Advise customers ahead of time that backordered products will be available soon
- Provide freight quotes as requested by Sales
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
- Post-Secondary Education degree/diploma is preferred
MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of Shipping and Receiving experience preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills are a must
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc) and ERP/MRP systems are a must
- Physically capable to perform the essential duties of the job, which includes regularly lifting up to 50 lbs
- Must have a valid forklift licence (will train if not certified)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to work efficiently as a team and independently with minimal supervision in a busy environment
- Extensive knowledge of major couriers (FedEx, Purolator, UPS, etc) including how to operate their respective portals is nice to have
- Some Customer Service experience is nice to have
- Experience with preparing international shipments including customs documentation is an asset
- Safety-oriented
- Supervisory experience is an asset
MINIMUM ADDITIONAL TRAINING:
- Forklift Licence
- Dangerous Goods Transportation - Ground and Air (IATA)
