Cowan Dynamics is a well-established engineering and manufacturing company of Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electro-Hydraulic Actuators and process control systems. We have an international and diversified client base supported by our sales groups based in Montreal and Edmonton.
In this position, you will be mandated to perform tasks related to the shipping department.
Essential duties & responsibilities:
Reception
- Unload trucks using the overhead crane, forklift & hand pallet truck (jigger)
- Unpackage/unbox all received items
- Perform receiving inspections to determine: a) No discrepancy between goods and documentation attached b) no damage is apparent, and c) documentation is available as required.
- Fill out inspection reports (take photos of the received items – critical components)
- Data Entry - Receive items in ERP system.
Shipping Hands-on:
- Preparing, packaging, crating (Cutting wood, creating the pallets), and shipping orders (heavy lifting is required)
- Picking items from the store, make inventory count and inventory adjustments
- Perform shipping inspections and identify outgoing material shipments to determine: a) quantity is as ordered b) no damage is apparent, and c) documentation is available as required.
- Load trucks using the overhead crane, forklift & hand pallet truck (jigger)
- Take shipping photos with the final package/items in the box/crate
- Organize and maximize warehouse shipping space and maintain a clean working area
- Perform other related duties (move items in the shop, clean certain items, organize racks)
Shipping Admin (back-up):
- Email correspondence with customers, brokers and transporters
- Call/book transporters and prepare waybills, CERS, commercial invoice, packing list
- Data Entry in Syspro/Trello of tracking number/actual ship date/scan the ship documents
- Take photos for marketing (coordinate with inspection)
- Advise the customer of the tracking number
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.00-$23.11 per hour
