Responsible to ensure the safe and proper receipt, storage, and delivery of goods. This includes back-up support as a Delivery Truck Driver and responsible to ensure the safe transportation and delivery of products to our customers. The candidate can expect to spend a portion of their day in the warehouse and a portion of the day on the road making deliveries. We currently have a position available in our Industrial Division.
Receiving
- Carefully inspects and signs for all incoming deliveries looking for and noting any product shortages or damage.
- Verifies incoming product and quantities against purchase orders and receives them into the system.
- Assist in the performs maintenance inspections on forklifts and material handling equipment on designated schedules, as required.
Shipping
- Reviews outbound orders for accuracy and completed paperwork.
- Packages all orders in an appropriate manner to reduce risk of damage during transport.
- Ensures each package is properly labelled and has all the necessary supporting documents.
- Assists in providing delivery details for the Truck Drivers clearly documenting destinations as well as number of packages.
- Coordinates order pick-ups from both vendors and customers as required.
- Picks, checks, packs and delivers rush orders as required.
- Warehouse
- Ensures all the goods on the shelves and racks are stocked neatly, safely and in their appropriate bin location.
- Creates bin locations and labels for new stock items.
- Ensures the shelves and warehouse are kept clean and free of debris at all times in compliance with the Health & Safety Policy as well as the company standards.
- Restocks the shelves as required.
- Notifies appropriate staff (Supervisor and/or Purchaser) when inventory supplies are getting low.
Driver
- Deliver and pick up products to different addresses through a variety of routes in a safe and professional manner consistently ensuring the safety of people and property.
- Ensure proper handling of the products from loading, transport and unloading to avoid damage.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working order and has all the Ministry required documentation on board and report any maintenance and service issues to Supervisor promptly.
- Maintain a clean and orderly truck – cabin and box etc.
- Practice safe working procedures and adhere to safety regulations of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Graduation Diploma.
- Valid class G license | Driver’s abstract with no recent moving or driving violations.
- Previous Shipping/Receiving experience an asset.
- Previous Delivery Truck Driver Experience an asset
- Familiarity of Waterloo Region, surrounding areas and Greater Toronto Area is an asset.
- Computer literacy with experience relative to Microsoft Office products and inventory management programs.
- Understanding of routine work procedures in several areas learned in on the job training.
