Shift: Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Wage: $17.50/hour
The Order Picker is responsible for accurately fulfilling customer orders destined to be delivered to our customer’s stores.
- Accurately pick with an RF gun and place necessary quantities into boxes with a cart or a hand jack.
- Verify that appropriate product is picked to meet customer order requirements.
- Adhere to customer order requests; special packing requirements / special label requirements / special staging requirements.
- Audit and adjust picked inventory as necessary.
- Communicate pick location inventory discrepancies.
- Meet predetermined KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) without compromising accuracy/ health and safety.
- Maintain an organized work area; remove cardboard boxes/ trash as necessary throughout the course of the workday.
- Adhere to all security SOPs to ensure the security of the warehouse and the client’s product.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act including Safety, Violence and Harassment laws
- Work in a healthy and safe manner following Metro’s policies, procedures
- Always wear or use protective equipment
- Report any hazards you find in the workplace to your supervisor
- Must not use or operate equipment in a manner that would endanger yourself or others
- Must not put other workers at risk by your actions
- At least 1 year warehouse experience in a warehouse as an order selector
- Experience with a RF scanner is an asset
- Proven communication both written and verbal in English
- Must be capable of sitting, standing, lifting and walking for extended periods of time
- Ability to follow directions
- Service orientated with strong customer interaction skills and commitment
- Good mathematical skills
