POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager of Support Services. The Laundry Linen / Washperson supports the delivery and processing of laundry services. Key responsibilities include processing clean linens, rotating through laundry/linen stations, sorting and washing of the soiled linens using a variety of linen machinery, delivery and pick up of linens to our rural sites.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Successful Completion of Secondary School Diploma
- Valid Class G driver’s license
- Clean drivers abstract
- Experience operating 5 ton truck with lift gate
- Knowledge of and experience in performing safety checks and maintaining driving log records
- Ability to carry out correct lifting and carrying techniques of items weighing up to 50 lbs (to be tested)
- Ability to perform the Physical Demands of the Position
- Ability to work in a team environment without close supervision
- Ability to work all shifts ( days, evenings and weekends)
- Ability to handle exposure to infection, noise, odors and work interruptions
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
