WASTE WATER AND POTABLE WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR (WWTP)

The Waste Water andPotable Water Treatment Plant Operator is accountable for the safe and reliable operation of the Water and wasteWater Treatment facilities and outstations on site at Côté Gold. The WWTP Operations work collaboratively with the team to deliver execution of the integrated plan and schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Area 1:

Safe and reliable operation of the Water and wasteWater Treatment facilities and outstations.

    • Operate and monitor the performance of plant process equipment including, but not limited to, valves, gates, pumps, compressors, engines, electric motors/generators, boilers, HVAC systems, chemical dosing equipment etc.
    • Adjust, inspect and evaluate process performance and equipment to optimize efficiency and effectiveness of the treatment systems.
    • Adjust, inspect and evaluate processes and equipment that control the operation and effectiveness of a Water and wasteWater Treatment facility to optimize performance, maintain regulatory compliance, and minimize local and/or plat wide adverse impacts.
    • Address alarm conditions and emergency situations to ensure efficient, compliant and safe operation.
    • Utilize various tools to perform operational duties including, but not limited to, SCADA systems, Laboratory Information Management System, to maintain, manage and validate operational data.
    • Maintain records and document all process and/or work are activities.
    • Identify changes in operational conditions and interpret information to implement corrective actions and/or troubleshoot process issues.
    • Collect daily, weekly and monthly water samples, transport and handle samples as per regulation standards, and carries out various text procedures and process calculations required to monitor process conditions.
    • Ensure cleanliness and safety of facilities.
    • Perform preventative maintenance diagnostics, and routine preventative maintenance duties such as monitoring equipment for excessive vibration or high temperatures.
    • Operate equipment safely.
    • Ensure all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.

Area 2:

Operational excellence.

    • Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
    • Continually seek to improve your skills as a Waste Water andPotable Water Treatment Plant Operator.
    • Watch closely for inefficiencies or problems.
    • Ensure problems and inefficiencies are reported to supervision and others.
    • Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
    • Consider risk among the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability, and cost).
  • Coach, train and mentor skilled labour and apprentice employees when required.

Area 3:

Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability.

    • Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
    • Mentor and train new team members.
    • Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
    • Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
    • Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete.
    • Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow-up.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
Qualifications


Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves

minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents

    • Level 1 or higher Wastewater Treatment Operation Certificate of Competency
    • Level 1 or higher Wastewater Collection Operations, Certificate of Competency
  • Level 1 or higher Water Treatment Operation, Certificate of Competency

Work experience - Nature & Length

    • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
    • Previous experience in remote camp Site Services is considered an asset.

Additional qualifications - Competency requirements

  • ·· Proficiency in computer applications and maintenance software.
    • Knowledge, understanding and experience with related legislation and acts (Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Water Regulation Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Environmental Protection Act etc.)
    • A valid Ontario driver’s license is required.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
