ROLE OVERVIEW

Are you a highly skilled and experienced Web Developer with a passion for eCommerce optimization? Join our dynamic team at Landish, where you'll contribute to the enhancement of our websites with your growth-hack/business mindset. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing Landish's 3 x eCommerce websites (English Canada, French Canada, and US), focusing on refining web design elements created by the graphic design team, improving conversion rates, and enhancing user retention. You'll be responsible for coding and modifying websites according to Figma wireframes, ensuring seamless functionality and a superior user experience. Collaboration with our marketing and graphic design teams will be essential as you work closely together to ensure our websites meet both user needs and business goals.

NOTE: Candidates without prior experience with eCommerce brands will not be considered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Optimize and develop using HTML/CSS/JS code for performance.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to translate the vision into a highly optimized eCommerce experience, prioritizing mobile-first design while ensuring optimal usability across both mobile and desktop platforms.
• Utilize your expertise in front-end and back-end technologies to design, code, and modify websites, ensuring they meet the highest standards of functionality and aesthetics.
• Update and maintain three e-commerce websites on the Shopify platform (with one specifically being in the French language).
• Ability to learn the custom theme and code using notes and comments.
• Use Shopify theme editor and do not hard code variables in the theme engine.
• Test website functionality and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate and deploy promotional features on the website, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Implement and test web functionalities related to promotions, such as discount codes, banners, and special offers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the execution of promotion campaigns on the Shopify platform.
• Monitor website performance post-price changes, identifying and resolving any coding-related issues promptly.
• Identify and build key front-end functionalities for best-in-class UX/UI that caters to diverse age groups, with a focus on Baby Boomers.
• Ensure consistent performance on all devices/browsers, focusing on mobile-friendly responsive design.
• Code landing pages and manage A/B testing.
• Ability to analyze and interpret performance metrics, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
• Recommend, schedule, and perform site improvements and upgrades.
• Enhance the UX of the Recharge customer portal.
• Code to web standards and stay updated with new technologies and trends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of web development experience, with a focus on user experience and responsive design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of eCommerce.
• Shopify Plus and ReCharge experience is a must.
• Understanding of the dev/test/production process.
• Firm grasp of Responsive Web Design principles.
• Experience with HTML5/CSS5, Shopify Liquid and SEO.
• Ability to write well-structured (vanilla) JavaScript/JQuery.
• Experience with tools such as Google Workspace and Figma.
• Ability to take direction from the senior leadership and marketing team, and then provide multiple solutions.
• Ability to self-manage workload and communicate effectively with the team.
• Attention to detail is paramount, even for those who do not speak French, as it is essential for maintaining precision, especially on our French-language website.
• B.S. in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or related field/similar work experience preferred.
• Native or excellent proficiency in English; proficiency in French is a plus.

TIME COMMITMENT:

• 20-40 hours/month (variable) with the potential to increase mid-2024
• Preference for hours to be worked on specific days during company work hours is possible

• Commensurate with experience.
