We are looking for a Weekend Youth Worker to join our team. Someone who is dynamic, energetic, creative, and flexible.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Build a strong rapport with hard to reach youth
- Knowledgeable of all individual youth plans
- Create events to support youth's individualize service plans through educational, vocational, recreational, mental health, or personal development events
- Curate or attend cultural events in the community
- Support youth in their individualized goals in a one on one or group setting with youth
- Support Live-In-Support worker staff
- Proper Documentation
- Ensure all individual safety and community plans are being followed
- Transport youth to and from appointments, recreational activities, and family visits.
- Must do preventative work including outreach
- Communicate with Supervisors surrounding plans for youth
- Follow policies and procedures as listed by Anika Youth Services
QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:
- Must able to work 12pm-8pm Saturdays and Sundays.
- The Saturday Sunday shifts will be Weekend Youth Worker
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field
- Must have a Valid B.C. Driver’s License and must have own vehicle
- Driving record check (abstract)
- Current First Aid certificate and or MANDT/NVCI
- Mandatory clear criminal record check
- A good understanding of the dynamics of working with at risk youth with mental health needs
- Must be energetic, enthusiastic and be self-motivated
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent ability to engage and motivate challenging youth
- Must display a great degree of professionalism on a day to day basis
- Take initiative on planning events and skill based programs
- Excellent conflict resolution and mediation skills
- Excellent communication skills including report writing
- Ability to establish a positive rapport with hard to reach youth
- Excellent documentation skills
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $25.01 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Every Weekend
