Fortis Mining, Engineering, & Manufacturing is currently recruiting for a team player to fulfill the role of a Welder/Fabricator. As our organization continues to evolve & grow, this role performs a variety of tasks that play a role in our success. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test will be required as a condition of employment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with & supporting the welding/fabricating crew in productivity & efficiency
Ability to work independently as well as be a team-player
Ensure safe work practices are followed at all times
Identify & support opportunities to improve efficiency & quality
Prioritize work & follow direction
Utilize the appropriate tools & methodologies
Ability to read blueprints, fit, fabricate & plan for the most efficient weldments
Ensure reporting completions & results are done accurately & in a timely manner
Assist in investigating potential quality issues brought forth by customers, whether internal or external
Assist the Lead Hands & Supervisors as required
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate must possess:
2-3 years of previous experience
CWB Certification
Must be able to perform all welding functions at an acceptable level
Must have Fitting/Fabricating Experience
Must be knowledgeable in the use & operation of all hand power tools
Must be able to read & understand shop drawings
Must be capable of working under minimum amount of supervision
Has good understanding in proper use & care of jigs
Able to effectively communicate
Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities & deadlines
