Job description

POSITION PURPOSE

As a Wharf Attendant, your primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the resort's wharf area. You will be responsible for providing excellent Windermere House customer service to guests arriving by boat, assisting with docking, and launching boats, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the wharf area. Your role will also be providing information about recreational activities and ensuring compliance with boating regulations and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Greet and welcome guests arriving at the wharf, providing a warm and friendly demeanor.

· Assist guests with docking their boats, ensuring a safe and efficient process.

· Provide information and assistance to guests regarding recreational activities, Hotel Restaurants and attractions.

· Maintain a clean and organized wharf area, including regular trash removal and maintenance of dock facilities.

· Ensure compliance with boating regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.

· Monitor the wharf area for any potential hazards or safety issues, promptly addressing and reporting them.

· Maintain accurate records of slip rentals, and other related transactions.

· Coordinate with other resort staff, such as front desk personnel and concierge, to ensure seamless guest experiences.

· Stay updated on local weather conditions and communicate any relevant information or safety advisories to guests.

· Maintain accurate inventory, rental records, maintenance, and dock logs to keep a record of all events in chronological order for billing and future reference.

· Ensure professional image of Windermere House, - grooming, uniform, service level

· Ensure that the dock area is organized and clutter-free during and before leaving the premises.

· Establish proper safety protocols for staff, customers, and dock equipment, in accordance with standard safety regulations.

· Greet and handle all guest interaction with a high level of professionalism and hospitality.

· Ensuring that municipal and provincial and federal laws are being adhered to.

· Other duties assigned by the Guest Service Manager.

Contract length: 4 months

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Windermere, ON P0B 1M0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
