Wild Rose Co-op is looking for an expert in Wine, Craft Beers and Spirits to join our brand new Liquor store opening soon in Camrose, AB!

Role Overview:

The Wine, Beer & Spirits Experience Coordinator is responsible for providing and implementing strategic direction, coaching and training for both our team members and guests and supporting the Store Manager while making safety a top priority in carrying out daily job duties.

What you’ll do:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following (and other duties as required);

  • Assist in driving wine sales initiatives using in-house materials and programming
  • Interact with customers on the sales floor to provide expert advice, creating valued relationships with customers resulting in loyalty
  • Work with Store Manager and Industry Partners to create a unique selection of wine, spirits and beer that will attract enthusiasts to Wild Rose Camrose Liquor
  • Assist with the creation of a monthly member Wine Club
  • Help create an outstanding customer experience where our location is a “must stop” Wine Spirits and Beer destination for our customers
  • Training and development of product knowledge for both team members and customers who visit our store and tasting bar
  • Educate, host, and give presentations for the public as well as help to co-ordinate private tasting events
  • Maintain current industry and product knowledge through meetings, internal and external trainings, and attending industry approved events
  • Maintain a booking calendar for the tasting events, educational classes and private functions
  • Create new or enhance existing programs or technologies to improve the experience of team members and customers
  • Understand and align with our Values of Teamwork, People, Excellence and Community
  • Other job duties as assigned

This position works closely with and assists our Store Manager.

Who you are:

We are looking for expert knowledge in Wines, Craft Beers and Spirits to help lead our next level customer shopping experience. The qualified candidate would have the following;

  • Valid ProServe certification
  • Minimum 3 years experience with providing excellent customer service
  • 2-3 years experience working in a retail environment (wine and spirits preferred)
  • Experience planning and coordination of events an asset
  • Sommelier certification an asset (WSET or CMS Certified) with a strong passion for wine
  • Mixologist certification an asset
  • Cicerone (beer sommelier) certification an asset
  • Effective planning, organization and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
  • Motivation and ability to work in a busy environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain relationships outside of the organization that supports the organization
  • Enjoy working with the public and are community focused
  • Excellent computer skills and familiar with 365 suite of products including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.
  • Ability to physically lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and stand for a full 8 hour shift
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts that include mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends
  • This position is based out of our Camrose, AB location but may require travel and work at other locations as business needs arise

This position will report to the Store Manager for our Camrose Liquor location.

This is a Full-time salaried position and will be based on 40 hours/week with the occasional requirement for additional hours as operational needs require.

*The Tentative start date for this role will be mid-May.
