A DAY IN THE LIFE 
In this position you’ll use your skills and experience to perform scheduled service, fault analysis/troubleshooting, and potential main component or blade work on Wind Turbines. During a typical day, you will work at heights and in confined spaces, while being exposed to the elements of weather. There are 98 - V-136 Mk 3B 3.6 MW turbines on site. The wind farm is coming up on their 4-year anniversary. 4 MW platform is the newer platform that is being built in several locations, so good exposure to today's current technology. At this site near Medicine Hat, AB you will typically have shifts 5 days a week at 8-10 hours a day. You also will have an on-call rotation schedule for off-work hours (weekends) and overtime as well. You will travel 25% to help other sites as needed. The team here normally works in teams of 2-3, will typically climb 1-2 turbines a day.

 

MORE ABOUT YOU
✓ You will need a safety-focused mindset and your positive attitude will contribute to your ability to work in a team environment, while being motivated and taking initiative in daily tasks 

✓ You can identify solutions to issues with process of elimination

✓ You will bring a high school dipolma or equivalent; 1-3 years of blades/composites and you will bring 1-2years of transferrable mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical work background or a wind school cerification
✓ An agricultural background or work experience is a greate transferrable avenue to this entry level service technician position with Vestas
