Representing Strategic Way Consulting, this assignment is at our Client location situated on the Lake Huron shoreline between Kincardine and Saugeen Shores. We are looking for a detail-oriented, methodical, technically inclined and collaborative Work Management Professional to join our growing team of driven professionals. Working in a dynamic and fast pace environment this individual will be required to be responsive, take initiative, manage multiple priorities and work with minimal direction. This individual will be responsible to assist our client in ensuring work in upcoming outages is planned and executed successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Support the client team to facilitate successful Planning and preparation of planned and unplanned outages
  • Communicate recommendations on resources, problem solving, and foreseeable risks to budget & schedule and escalate to client team lead as required
  • Ensure scope readiness, manage scope control, ensure HRE plans are approved, implement milestone recovery plans if required, create missed milestone risk mitigation plans and escalating risks; due to resources, materials & plant configuration
  • Chair regular task analysis meetings (TAMs) as required to manage risks to online scope and tracking service contracts, materials, tools, permits, holds, resource challenges and schedule challenges
  • Provide coordination & assistance to all client work groups including Projects & EPD to counsel and support groups in problem resolution
  • Manage scopes of work through the planning process while engaging stakeholders, Op’s, Assessing, Engineering, Maintenance WGC’s, Projects (PMC and vendors) & supply chain
  • Monitor Key Performance indicators and report SPI & CPI actuals and escalate any deviations to client senior leadership if not recoverable
  • Participle in scope challenge meetings (SPR) & Assist with the initial review of proposed scope
  • Ensure Scope is correctly coded and Work Orders have the correct link to the most up-to-date Model Work Order
  • Create and monitor outage schedule and escalate all risks to cost & schedule. Manage ongoing schedule health, including but not limited to:
  • Schedule all outage prerequisites, execution tasks and post requisites in alignment with reactor safety, operations and engineering and ensure all parties agree
  • Clean up, tighten schedule and remove work out of window that cannot be executed prior to baseline snap prior to execution
  • Move Preventative Maintenance tasks with late dates to online or next outage.
  • Review Pre look Draft Plans on a daily basis
  • Review T-week Plans (Weekly) to ensure the quality of Draft Plans meets exceptions. Make sure items of concern are well commented in addressed in the weekly meeting
  • Identify constraints with external client contractors and monitor risks outside client control
  • Work with supply chain to ensure all materials will be on site and picked up by execution and if not available; see if parts can be reallocated form a lower priority project or have parts expedited to ensure no delays to execution
  • Set up and chair TAM’s and ensure effective meeting with timely resolution to issues
  • Anticipate emerging issues during planning, and initiate and /or accommodate projects, mandatory discovery work, and emergent work into the schedule.
  • During outages, track progress and completion of field work and assist execution resources in addressing and resolving issues and provide coaching and leadership as required.
  • Provide leadership, and create and maintain a work environment that motivates, supports and encourages staff to perform the assigned tasks in a professional, effective and efficient manner, consistent with the philosophy and goals of the business. Act as a coach and facilitator to create and sustain a nonthreatening, supportive team environment, actively working with the staff to empower them to attain optimal work performance with a high level of personal responsibility and self-management. Demonstrate openness and trust through the sharing of information, and by being visible and accessible to employees, to enhance and develop their skills and prepare them for future roles
  • Perform other duties as required

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in a similar role
  • Must be well organized and possess good written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Experience and understanding in the areas of Operations, Mechanical and/or Electrical Maintenance considered an asset
  • Understanding of nuclear work management processes and procedures considered an asset
  • Understanding of Maximo ERP software and Primavera P6 considered an asset
  • Working understanding of MS Office (Excel, Access, Project, Word, etc.)
  • Nuclear experience is considered an asset
  • Site Security Clearance at Bruce power is considered an asset

Education

  • Degree or diploma in the area of Engineering, Technical Discipline, Project Management/Coordination or similar
  • Technical Trade
  • Primavera P6 Certification
  • PMP designation considered an asset
