Yard Cleaner & Maintenance

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities / Position Overview:

Yard cleaner's main responsibility is to clean up debris around yard and help operators when needed. The position works at the engineered yard (25284 Fraser Highway)

Principal Responsibilities:

• Picking up dunnage & straps which are around the yard and place them in appropriate areas.
• Sweeping and picking up piles of sawdust
• Operating a bobcat in a safe manner
• Help customers and operators when needed
• Communicate with two-way radio
• Ensure garbage bins are regularly into larger bin
• Put stock away
• Others duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Be able to walk and stand on pavement for long periods of time
• Be able to lift 75lbs
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
• Ability to plan, organize and execute tasks and work within a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal and strong inter-personal skills and speak, read and understand the English language.
• Positive attitude and willingness to improve processes
• Flexible and openness to change

Working Conditions:

• Susceptible for all weather conditions as working outside (dusty, hot, cold, wet etc)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $24.00-$25.00 per hour
