Overview

This position will be responsible for the yard and warehouse operations that include handling, loading, and unloading, and maintaining inventory in such a way as to efficiently respond to the demands of customers, carriers, and the company. The ideal candidate will have two years forklift experience within a similar environment and be comfortable working outdoors.

Starting range: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour based on experience.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm (closed STAT holidays and weekends!)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing tasks for customers in an efficient, professional manner that meets and exceeds I-XL service standards.
  • Locate inventory that has been purchased, prepare it for transport, and transfer it to the staging/loading area.
  • Handle all paperwork quickly and accurately.
  • Use radios for communication as required.
  • Unload inbound shipments quickly and move to the appropriate storage area.
  • Assure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report variances and/or damages, writing off and disposing of unacceptable inventory.
  • Keep inventory organized, tidy and efficiently stored.
  • Keep the yard and warehouse areas clean and free from wood, plastic, and other materials.
  • Assist in snow removal, as required.
  • Keep forklifts in safe operating condition. Perform required inspections and maintenance work according to policy.
  • Always work in a safe manner and report all hazards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer-first attitude—someone who enjoys people.
  • Valid Forklift Operator license with 2-3 years' experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in retail or dealing with the public is an asset.
  • Ability to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal.
  • Strong work ethic and track record of reliability.
  • Comfortable working outdoors.
  • Commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
  • Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude.
  • Takes initiative, is proactive in their work, and results oriented.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Works well in a small, cohesive team environment.
  • Full background check is required.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
