WestView Learning provides K-12 learning support to Online Learning students from 8:30 - 3:00 Monday to Friday, September to June and tutoring after school and Saturday mornings. We also provide community classes and workshops (ages 5 thru senior) until 6:00 pm and Saturday mornings, including technology, writing, crafts, and Farm2Table. We offer day camps during spring and summer breaks on a variety of technology, craft, engineering, writing, etc topics.
We are currently looking for an employee who enjoys working with kids and have a particular passion for a combination of 2 or more of the following activities:
- hydroponic and regular gardening
- cooking
- science (biology, geology, physics, environmental) and citizen science projects
- technology - block coding, general apps
Duties include working 1-1 or in small groups to support K-12 learners in the day program or tutoring sessions. After school programs and camps , adults and seniors workshops involve worker with larger groups of learners.
Experience working with kids in teaching, social work, community groups and sports is helpful. Patience, compassion and an understanding of kid's unique needs and quirks is essential. The successful applicant must complete a criminal records check for working with vulnerable youth. Being computer literate in excel and word, proficient in writing short documents and using various other programs or be willing to learn is a must. Training in content areas can be provided as required.

Salary: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
