The CIDA team at Scotiabank is at the forefront of the journey to transform the Bank into a data centric organization through impactful customer insights, innovative analytics, and well governed data. One of the main areas of transformation is the way data is used, shared, and accessed at an enterprise level. The aim is to provide transparent, robust, and ethical data practices across the enterprise to enhance the protection of our customers’ data, and the way we deliver business value. We are looking for someone to lead and oversee the Data Ethics and Use function, ensuring the Enterprise Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Risk strategies, implementation program and mandated activities are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: 
-Work with Managing Director & Chief Data Officer, Corporate Functions, Data Policy and Regulations to shape standards for the implementation of the Enterprise Data and AI Risk 
-Develop and implement strategies for building a culture of responsible data and AI use across the Bank and strengthening the team’s position as a Centre of Excellence 
-Establish an AI risk management oversight and challenge function to support identification and assessment of AI risk in collaboration with other risk partners. 
-Implement the operating model including standards, guidelines, and frameworks to enable ethical data and AI use.
-Advise and collaborate with Data Offices, Analytics groups, other partners, and stakeholders with regards to the data and AI risk management principles, standards, controls
-Support Data Offices, Analytics groups, and other key partners with identification, communication and reporting of relevant data, analytics and AI risk priorities, successes, issues
-Guide and influence various stakeholders across the organization to achieve the goals defined in the DAIR and Enterprise Data Management strategies and programs.
-Support resolution of risk governance and management issues by driving coordination and alignment
-Support Data Ethics awareness events and training sessions on team tools, processes, governance model, metrics and reporting.
 
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:
-5+ years of experience in business/financial services.
-Knowledge and understanding of AI governance, Data Ethics, data policy, and privacy.
-Curious and proactive learner able to solve complex problems, multi-task and manage changing priorities.
-Ability to present ideas and facilitate discussions to build consensus at all levels.
-Strong communication skills, both written and spoken and ability to engage diverse audiences.
-Ability to drive success in a high performing, flexible and small team environment.
-Results orientation and pragmatic approach to decision making.
-Strong organization, stakeholder management, relationship management skills and adaptability to manage ambiguity.
