Job Summary
As a Business Specialist in the RBC Insurance Agile Delivery, Digital Optimization, and Risk team, you will collaborate with squads working in an Agile environment on project initiatives to deliver RBC Insurance’s Realize 2026 strategic priorities. You will provide an appropriate level of support for all types of change initiatives/projects, ensuring business impacts are assessed and projects are being implemented efficiently and effectively with business solutions that meet client and stakeholder needs. You will have the opportunity to work closely with squad members, Insurance Business Units, and Senior Leaders.
Job Description
What will you do?
• Attend/participate in daily agile squad ceremonies
• Work with subject matter experts to understand business rules/requirements
• Support business test case development and execution
• Utilize Excel to manage data and validate complex calculations
• Perform processes on Policy Administration systems
• Where necessary, support and collaborate to manage and help resolve Production/Technical issues
What will you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution in a Finance, Business or Mathematics stream of study
- Agile mindset open to learning and finding new and innovative ways to deliver business value faster
- Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with a strong ability to prioritize
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts with a high attention to detail
- Strong MS Office Skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Nice to Have
• Understanding of Insurance
• Project management experience
• Working knowledge of Insurance Admin systems
• Experience with collaboration tools such as Mural, Confluence, Jira
Please note: This posting is for a 4 month student placement with a start date of May 2024, and end date in August 2024. In order to be eligible for this 4-month student position, you must either: be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2024 ; or if you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2024), you must require the full 4-month work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
