As a member of the Child Welfare team, your primary responsibilities will be to provide a broad spectrum of children’s services. These services may include, but are not limited to, providing preventative and protection services to children and families, providing services to and on behalf of children who are in the care of the Agency’s protection services and approved placements, completing risk assessments, developing protection plans and completing the required documentation necessary for determining disposition.
- An MSW or BSW is preferred (a College Diploma in Social Services may be considered along with other relevant university degrees or diplomas deemed suitable by the Executive Director);
- Experience working with children, youth and families is considered an asset;
- Able to interpret and apply legislative requirements including but not limited to the Child and Youth Family Services Act, relevant regulations and Ministry standards;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours as required;
- Must be willing to travel as required;
- Bilingualism (English/French) is required; and
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and use of own vehicle.
