AUTHORIZED CHILD PROTECTION WORKER - FLOATER
Full-time Position in Kapuskasing

As a member of the Child Welfare team, your primary responsibilities will be to provide a broad spectrum of children’s services. These services may include, but are not limited to, providing preventative and protection services to children and families, providing services to and on behalf of children who are in the care of the Agency’s protection services and approved placements, completing risk assessments, developing protection plans and completing the required documentation necessary for determining disposition.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS):

  • An MSW or BSW is preferred (a College Diploma in Social Services may be considered along with other relevant university degrees or diplomas deemed suitable by the Executive Director);
  • Experience working with children, youth and families is considered an asset;
  • Able to interpret and apply legislative requirements including but not limited to the Child and Youth Family Services Act, relevant regulations and Ministry standards;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours as required;
  • Must be willing to travel as required;
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is required; and
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and use of own vehicle.

Poste à temps plein à Kapuskasing

À titre de membre de l’équipe du bien-être de l’enfance, vos responsabilités principales seront de fournir un large éventail de services à l’enfance. Ces services peuvent comprendre, sans s’y limiter, fournir des services préventifs et de protection aux enfants et aux familles, fournir des services au nom des enfants pris en charge par les services de protection de l'agence et les placements approuvés, faire des évaluations des risques, élaborer des plans de protection et rédiger la documentation nécessaire pour déterminer la décision à prendre.

EXIGENCES DE L’EMPLOI (QUALITES ET COMPETENCES REQUISES) :

  • De préférence, une maîtrise en travail social ou un baccalauréat en travail social (on pourrait considérer un diplôme collégial en travail social, de même que d’autres grades ou diplômes universitaires jugés convenables par le directeur général).
  • De l’expérience de travail auprès des enfants, des jeunes et des familles est considérée comme un atout.
  • La capacité d’interpréter et d’appliquer les exigences législatives, qui inclus, mais n’est pas limité à la Loi sur les services à l’enfance, à la jeunesse et à la famille, les règlements pertinents et les normes du ministère.
  • D’excellentes aptitudes pour la communication, les relations interpersonnelles et l’organisation.
  • Doit être disposé et capable de travailler selon des horaires flexibles en fonction des besoins.
  • Doit être disposé à voyager selon les besoins.
  • Bilinguisme (anglais et français) est requis.
  • Permis de conduire valide et utilisation de son propre véhicule.
