We are seeking a Home Visitor with our Directly Operated Child Care Programs Division. The primary focus of this position is as follows:
Responsibilities
To monitor Child Care Providers and the care they provide according to the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and the DSSAB expectations. To liaise and coordinate with the parents, Providers, Ministry of Education, and other staff and partners to ensure that each child has the best Child Care experience possible. Work may include direct interaction with children that can be physically demanding.
Qualifications
· Early Childhood Education Diploma and current membership with the college of E.C.E.
· Minimum of two years experience working with children in Child Care settings.
· Home Child Care experience preferred.
· Knowledge and understanding of all legislation relevant to the position.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to plan effective programs for toddlers, pre-schoolers, parents, and caregivers.
· Ability to deal with peers and parents and Providers in a friendly and cooperative manner.
· Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
· Basic level of computer skills required.
· Ability to work independently, as well as part of the team.
· Valid certification in Standard First Aid, including Infant and Child CPR.
· Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
· Must have a valid class G driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and ability to travel throughout the District as required.
Rate of Pay: $24.37 / hour (as per Collective Agreement) plus 4% vacation pay.
