The Affordable Housing Societies – one of BC’s largest not-for-profit affordable housing providers has an immediate opening for a Casual On-call Cleaner at one of our most beautiful properties in downtown Vancouver. Reporting to the Property Manager(with a dotted line to the Resident Manager,) the Cleaner serves a key role in furthering the organization’s goals and objectives and ensuring the Mission to “provide quality, affordable rental homes so that families and individuals can thrive.” The Cleaner will provide a well-maintained, clean, and safe environment for residents, visitors and staff members. The Cleaner is responsible for housekeeping, cleaning, disinfecting and general upkeep for care and good condition of the common areas of the building and surrounding site.

You understand and are empathetic to the many reasons individuals find themselves in precarious housing situations including trauma, addictions, mental health challenges and the confidentiality that goes along with it. Key Functions Include:
· Responsible for housekeeping, cleaning, care, and upkeep of all common areas (interior & exterior) including including garbage and recycling programs
· Promptly respond to tenant requests
· Inform Supervisor of accidents or other issues incurred during shift
· Other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Some knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act
· Good organizational and planning skills
· Detail oriented
· Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision
· Good time management skills
· Excellent knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting agents/supplies
· Good written and oral communication, interpersonal and positive relationship-building skills
· Some computer skills including MS Office and online applications
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
· Secondary school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum one year of experience
Mandatory Job Requirements:
· Successful pass of a Criminal Records Search with Vulnerable Sector
