The DoubleTree by Hilton London is located in the heart of downtown London. This hotel is connected by a skywalk to the RBC place and is within a ten-minute walk away from the Covent Garden Market and Budweiser Gardens! The hotel has 323 rooms and suites, an onsite restaurant, a Starbucks, and 34,000 square feet in banquet and meeting spaces. This full-service hotel also offers a well-equipped fitness centre and pool and a fully equipped business centre.
Requiring 2nd Cook; must be available to work flexible shifts mostly weekends. Line cook and banquet experience of more than 5 years preferred. Previous experience working in a Hotel kitchen environment an asset.
Job responsibilities include but not limited to;
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards.
- Date all food containers and rotate as per hotel standards, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
- Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set up. Note any out-of stock items or possible shortages. Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
- Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.
- Ensure rotation of stock and the storage of all food items in accordance with health & safety regulations.
- Perform opening and closing duties applicable to the position and be competent in the completion of all duties within the shift.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment/surfaces including knives are used/cleaned correctly and defective equipment being immediately reported.
- Be competent in the safe and efficient use of equipment.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
- To provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external clients.
- To maintain standards of punctuality, uniform and dress code.
- To be aware of and comply with hotel policies and procedures.
- To adhere to all matters relating to hygiene, health, safety, and emergency procedures.
- To comply with WHMIS regulations and all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- To ensure the use of personal protective equipment as appropriate.
