Weaver Group has the following long-term positions available, for upcoming projects within the Peace River, Alberta area: 3rd & 4thYear Apprentice and Journeyperson Pipefitters (Pipeline Division)
General Requirements
- Must be willing and able to operate a WGL picker truck
- Apprentices are required to have a minimum 2 years experience working in gas/oilfield environments; preference given to those with oil and gas plant and facility experience.
- Proficient in English reading, writing and language skills.
- Capable of taking direction, following written/verbal instruction and working independently
- Knowledgeable of OHS protocols and compliance within the industry
- Able to assess, identify and minimize safety risks and hazards
- Must be able to fit by hand and able to perform bolt up unsupervised
- Able to competently operate a variety of hand, power tools and equipment
- Experience operating, side and center-mounter picker trucks, fork-lifts, side-booms and skid-steers
- Knowledgeable of the usage and operation of H2S gas monitors
- Capable of performing physically demanding work at heights or on elevated surfaces
- Willing to work outdoors for extended periods of time in all climates
- Available to work shifts and extended hours when necessary
Qualifications
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Registered apprentice through AIT or other provincial apprenticeship program
- Current Pipeline Construction Safety Training (PCST) preferred
- Current Common Safety Orientation (CSO) required
- Current Standard First Aid with Level C CPR required
- Current H2S Alive (Energy Safety Canada or Work Safe BC issued) required
- Current Fall Arrest, Confined Space and Aerial Work Platform preferred
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required
