As an Account Administrator, a typical day might include:

  • Prepares submissions for marketing purposes, negotiating terms and conditions with underwriters
  • Prepares proposals for quotes and/or renewals
  • Follows through and follows up with clients and underwriters on outstanding requests and information
  • Obtains orders and binds coverage with underwriters
  • Provides friendly, professional service to clients, Account Managers, and Account Executives
  • Handles claims, including reporting to insurers, inputting new data, and updating clients on claims status
  • Handles routine customer, Account Manager, and Account Executive inquiries/concerns in a timely manner
  • Maintains expiry lists, records, and policy files, ensuring that they are organized and up to date
  • Works with the Accounting & Finance department to resolve accounting discrepancies and related issues.
  • Monitors and prepare certificate of Insurance and enclosure letters. Issues invoices, endorsements, Cover Notes, financing contracts, etc.
  • Ensures all documents are accurate and accounts are kept in an orderly manner
  • Obtains Premium Finance quotes and reviews policies against Cover Notes for accuracy
  • Processes glass contracts
  • Manages daily administration of accounts, including correspondence; review of policy wordings, contracts, & lease agreements; and issuance of new/renewal documentation
  • Maintains expiration lists and abeyances
  • Handles accounts and general account maintenance including but not limited to SOVs and Equipment schedules; holder lists; self-audit support for the team, etc.
  • Other duties, as assigned

Must haves:

  • High School Diploma (at a minimum) with appropriate work experience to support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EPIC experience an asset.
  • Commitment to providing superior customer service to a diverse clientele, recognizing and responding appropriately to business development opportunities to meet the customers’ insurance needs
  • Excellent organizational & time-management skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple files and deadlines
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Creative & collaborative problem-solving skills, ability to handle pressure in a time constrained environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail Inquisitive and investigative outlook
  • Computer skills including proficiency with: Microsoft Office; client relationship management applications
