Job description

Sanivac is looking for an Account Manager to join our sales and business development team for the Ottawa/Gatineau region. As a territorial sales representative, you will be responsible for managing and growing business relationships with current and potential company clients. You will need to provide comprehensive and tailored solutions to each client to increase company revenue and account profitability. Thus, you will play a crucial role in our growth and strengthening of our partnerships.

With its 425 employees, Sanivac has been a leader since 1961 in sewer cleaning, portable toilet and trailer rental, septic tank pumping, grease trap cleaning, hydro-excavation, and urban infrastructure maintenance.

Salary: Starting at $60,000 depending on experience, plus performance bonuses

Location: Work on the road and work from home or the possibility to work from Gatineau (travel once every 2 weeks to L'Île-Perrot)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, daytime hours

The challenges we have for you:

  • Present, promote, and sell our services using compelling arguments tailored to the specific needs of existing and potential customers. 
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of customer situations to understand and anticipate their needs, ensuring customized solutions.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive relationships, ensuring transparent communication and a deep understanding of expectations.
  • Reach out to new customers through cold calling, demonstrating the added value of our services and building relationships from the first contact. 
  • Expedite the resolution of customer issues and complaints, thereby maximizing customer satisfaction and building trust in our services. 
  • Work proactively to achieve and exceed sales targets, implementing effective strategies and maintaining excellent product knowledge.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with team members and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure a consistent and aligned approach. 
  • Analyze territory/market potential, track sales, and provide regular status reports to guide strategic decisions.
  • Provide detailed reports on customer needs, encountered issues, expressed interests, competitive activities, and the potential for new products and services.
  • Stay informed about best practices and promotional trends to remain at the forefront of the industry.
  • Continuously improve through constructive feedback, constantly seeking opportunities to refine sales approaches and increase overall efficiency.


The skills we are looking for include:

  • You possess relevant experience in a sales representative or account manager role.
  • You are proficient in common computer tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc., which will facilitate your daily work. 
  • You are perfectly bilingual, capable of effective communication in both English and French, both in writing and orally, which is essential for interacting with a diverse clientele. 
  • Knowledge of CRM practices as well as the ability to establish productive professional relationships.
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented with a proven sales track record.
  • Excellent sales, communication, and negotiation skills.Prioritization, time management, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience's needs.
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback.
  • Your adaptability is remarkable. 
  • You are comfortable with change and can find creative solutions to solve problems that arise. 
  • You have a keen sense of customer service, and your priority is to provide quality service, proactively meet customer needs, and exceed their expectations.
