LUCERE DERMATOLOGY – BOOKKEEPER / ACCOUNTANT
Lucere Dermatology is the leading dermatology and laser clinic located in Edmonton, featuring down town and south locations. The company has a unique business model that also incorporates a surgical suite and research division. The established company has been operating for 10 years and employs approximately 70 employees.
Lucere is looking for an experience bookkeeper for take responsibility for maintaining its everyday financial records. This position requires the ability to work autonomously on day-to-day functions, with ongoing collaboration and reporting to the parent company. The bookkeeper works very closely with the management team for the month end financial package, payroll functions, inventory management, and business operation KPIs.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
The Bookkeeper works autonomously, the company does not have a senior accountant or finance officer. The senior financial responsibilities are executed by the parent company. This position reports directly to the General Manager, Owners and parent company.
JOB DUTIES:
ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE:
· Full cycle accounting
· Overlooking cash flow
· Verify and process account receivables and payables
· Analyze and make recommendations for revenue generating and expense management
· Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts and post journal entries
· Reconcile entries and prepare trial balance
· Bank reconciliation
· Prepare monthly financial statement package including income statement and balance sheet for all operating companies
· Execute Year End Financial Statements
· Maintains historical records by scanning or filing documents
· Complies with provincial and federal legal requirements, enforcing adherence requirements, filing reports, and advising management of needed actions and ensure legal requirements compliance
BUSINESS OPERATION FUNCTIONS:
· Overlook direct billing to Alberta Health
· Compile payroll information for submission to external payroll processing agency
· Place orders and make payment arrangements for products and supplies
· Collaborate with department leads to establish protocols and systems
· Relationship with all external contracted service providers and vendors (ex: health benefit provider, product suppliers, janitorial companies, utilities…)
· Primary contact for bank representatives and external accounting firms
· Process wire transfers for every business entity
· Arrange shipping and courier services
· Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:
· Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in accounting
· Three years of work experience in bookkeeping
· Work history with a medical practice with direct billing to Alberta Health is preferred
· Experience with Excel required, familiarity with QuickBooks is preferred
· Background of working with business tools and income tax worksheets
· Apply for government grants and other funding programs
· Hands-on experience in data entry, computing software and record keeping
· Exhibit high levels of organization skills, accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and manage time to meet deadlines
· Demonstrate excellent customer service
· Excellent communication (written and verbal) English language skills
· Position is performed on location (not from home)
· Schedule is Full Time, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm, flexibility is required to start at 8:00am for meetings.

Salary: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
