Role Overview
A full-time opportunity for a CPA professional experienced in Canadian and US public companies reporting to become an integral part of our accounting and finance team. The employment contract is offered for a one (1) year term to fill a temporary vacancy. This position will report to the Corporate Controller and will be responsible for assisting in various projects that relate to accounting, financial reporting in IFRS and US GAAP and SOX internal controls.
The Accounting Manager position is based in our Vancouver office and forms an integral part of our accounting and finance function for a rapidly growing company. This position works collaboratively across our Canadian, Argentine and US-based teams supporting the financial reporting function and advancement of our projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing monthly reporting packages for the Company s business units as well as with consolidated quarterly and year-end financial statements
- Oversee accounting function for the Company s business units
- Work with internal and external auditors
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Support SOX compliance and audit
- Assist with tax returns and provisions
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A bachelor s degree, CPA accounting designation or equivalent required
- Minimum of five (5) years accounting work experience with a public company
- Experience with SAP as well as US GAAP and SOX considered an asset
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team
