The Role
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of client reporting for Rhapsody. The position works closely with Property Accountants, Property Managers, Property Directors, under the guidance of the Controller. The successful candidate will ensure the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting and should possess solid communication, organizational and analytical skills.

Essential job functions:
- Reviewing property-level activity and financial reports to identify and correct irregularities as well as ensure accurate representation of the property’s operational and financial position.
- Review journal entries, bank reconciliations, etc. prepared by Property Accountants.
- Monitors property operating bank accounts, as well as manages cash needs, cash disbursements, and transfers between properties.
- Assists team in property level audits as required.
- Performs special projects and research as assigned.
- Continually seeks to identify innovative strategies for increasing department efficiencies and reducing expenses.
- Supervising and providing guidance to Property Accountants.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations, providing regular feedback to direct reports on a regular basis.
- Recruiting, onboarding and training new staff when needed.
- Maintain work area to an appropriate level of presentation.
- Cultivating team camaraderie and value through support and participation in team building and events.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other comparable business-related degree.
- Minimum of ten years of general ledger experience preferred.
- Proven experience as an Accounting Supervisor/Manager
- Experience with Yardi Voyager considered an asset.
- An analytical background with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment relative to the timeliness, recognition, and classification of transactions in accordance with accounting principles.
