Accounting Technician

Responsabilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, encompassing tasks such as journal entries, account and bank reconciliations, government remittances, etc.
• Prepare monthly client reports, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, trial balance, etc.
• Post and manage journal entries.
• Process invoices for accounts payable.
• Handle cash disbursements through cheques and EFTs.
• Address inquiries from the Head Office, other departments, clients, and vendors.
• Manage accounts receivable, including client billing.
• Apply cash to customer accounts.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
• Process customer payments via credit card or preauthorized payment.
• Provide support to the city accountant.
• Assist with both internal and external audits.
• Perform any other related duties as required.

• Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in a similar role.
• Diploma in accounting or an equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrates meticulous attention to accuracy and detail.
• Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
• Capable of maintaining confidentiality in professional responsibilities.
• Exhibits the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Open-minded and adaptable to change, with a willingness to acquire new skills in a dynamic setting.
• Possesses intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office/Office 365.
