The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety provides a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan; promotes safe and secure communities; and provides legal and justice policy advice to government.

Provincial Protective Service Branch is a centralized point of command, allowing different enforcement and security services to work as one team to respond to public safety and concerns. PPS unites Conservation, Highway Patrol, and Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) Officers, Prisoner Transport and Court Security Deputy Sheriffs, and Wascana Park Community and Safety Officers and aligns Provincial Protective Services under a single organizational structure.

The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety is seeking a highly-motivated, enthusiastic and self-directed individual, with professional knowledge and experience in policing/criminal intelligence environments for the position of Administrative and Analytical Support Assistant.

Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of the Security Intelligence Unit, you will be involved in business strategic planning for the Security Intelligence Unit in relation to the Gang Violence Reduction Strategy.

In this role you will:

  • Be an integral member of a highly-specialized intelligence team identifying, assessing, disrupting and suppressing street gangs and like criminal organizations in Saskatchewan;
  • Contribute to the intelligence activities of the unit and a wide range of intelligence products and services through the management of data;
  • Participate in information gathering through collaboration with Security Intelligence Unit members;
  • Contribute to the generation of strategic and tactical products; and
  • Maintain and evaluate statistical information and databases and provide back-up to the Intelligence Coordinator.

Your excellent communication skills will serve you well, as you share Security Intelligence Unit information with partners internal and external to the Government of Saskatchewan while utilizing the principles of Third Party Rule and Need To Know. Your high level of attention to detail will assist you as you draft, proofread and/or edit Security Intelligence Unit documents.

Strong organizational skills will be required as you schedule, coordinate and plan unit-related travel, meetings and training. Your efficient manner will assist with the monitoring and improvement of security intelligence administrative processes and transcription duties for the unit.

Candidates will typically obtain the knowledge and abilities required for this position through a combination of education, professional experience and training. You will have proficient computer skills and extensive experience in working with Microsoft Office.

This position works with highly confidential information and within a restricted access work site. As such, candidates will be required to obtain enhanced fingerprint clearance. This check is a more in-depth level of clearance than a normal criminal record check.
