The Opportunity
The Ministry of Government Relations is responsible for municipal relations, First Nations, Métis and Northern Affairs. The Ministry works with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders, so that communities can improve their quality of life.
Our Building and Technical Standards and Corporate Services branches are seeking a well-organized, helpful, disciplined and detail-oriented administrative professional for the role of Administrative and Records Management Coordinator. You will collaborate within an administrative team alongside two Executive Coordinators. Experience in a government office setting will be considered an asset.
The successful candidate will need:
- Competence in office and administrative procedures, protocols, filing systems and equipment operations;
- Proficiency in operating Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat and internet browsers;
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures;
- Purposeful verbal and written communication;
- Capability to efficiently organize and prioritize files, while maintaining a clear distinction between the files, processes and responsibilities of two branches; and,
- Capable of working autonomously to meet deadlines while actively pursuing continuous learning to enhance efficiency through the acquisition of new processes.
The successful candidate will have the ability to:
- Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing software for accurate document creation, editing and formatting;
- Organize and implement approved Records Management policies and procedures, including record retention schedules, file management systems and storage solutions;
- Be adaptable, flexible and cooperative to meet challenges, changing demands and constant interruptions; and,
- Be reliable, trustworthy and discreet to keep information confidential.
