Position Summary
This is a casual role; hours available per week will vary.
Working under the supervision of the Team Lead, Faculty Services, the Administrative Assistant will provide support to the Faculty Services portfolio including:
Duties
Provides cross coverage for Administrative Assistant and supports as required which includes
Answers phones and fields general inquiries for the area.
Serves as a resource for routine and general inquiries and procedures. Greets visitors to the area and routes them to the appropriate individual.
Sorts and distributes mail; arranges mail slots for new staff; schedules courier service, as required.
Books meeting room space.
Performs word processing and data entry for the area or program.
Maintains files and filing systems.
Assisting Events & Engagement Coordinator with events and activities including:
Assist with preparing rooms, organizing equipment, setting up catering and assembling materials
Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or some post-secondary education
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in use of Google suite applications.
Willing to learn new university administrative systems (shared services ticketing system) and adapt to change.
Self-starter, problem solver, strong organizational skills, ability to get along with and assist fellow colleagues.
