Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant (Temporary) x2.
Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site
Reporting to the Senior Geologist or Senior Project Geologist
Responsibilities:
• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Fully embrace Teck’s core values. One way this is demonstrated is by attending and actively participating in daily safety meetings
• Prepare travel requests and maintain schedules for personnel associated with the exploration programs. Keep program management informed of schedule conflicts or changes to the schedule
• Manage and report room assignments for all Exploration personnel and contractors between Construction Camp and Tent Camp
• Attend and prepare minutes for scheduled twice monthly progress and performance meetings. Performs similarly for ad hoc meetings as required
• Track drilling consumable inventory and notify appropriate personnel when purchase of additional inventory is required
• Order and coordinate supplies from the Red Dog Mine warehouse. Submit stock supply requests, transportation vouchers, and coordinate pickup of supplies as necessary
• Receive exploration office telephone calls and transfer calls or relay clear messages to supervisors
• Support other office tasks as requested by supervisor
• Help maintain good housekeeping around office areas
• Work effectively with a large, diverse team, and maintain a safe and respectful workplace
• Carry out workplace inspections, identify hazards and hazard mitigation solutions, and report unsafe conditions and behaviors
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• File management (Windows and SharePoint), spreadsheet (MS Excel), and word processing (MS Word) skills sufficient to efficiently store and retrieve files, prepare, and maintain personnel schedules, and prepare daily reports with minimal supervision
• Ability to arrange travel and order supplies in GenCID with minimal training
• Familiarity with an exploration drilling program is a strong asset
