Job description

Since 1992, Bodwell Summer Program has been a leader in educational, inventive and exciting Summer Programs for youth ages 9 to 17 in Western Canada. We are seeking an Admissions Officer starting March 22. The hours with be as follows (with some flexibility required). Shifts will fall during regular working hours, except during the program implementation period (July 5 - August 3). During the program implementation period, some evening and weekend hours will be required.

  • March 22 - May 31 - 20 hours/week
  • June 3 - August 2 - 40 hours/week
  • August 3 - August 27 - 10 hours/week

Responsibilities:

  • Register all summer program applicants
  • Reply to online inquiries about admissions
  • Assist in the arrangements for groups including coordinating with agents and chaperones
  • Maintain ongoing communication with parents and agents about applications, manage any issues that arise
  • Prepare legal documents required for student visa applications
  • Input all payments and prepare monthly financial reports
  • Organize medical insurance for all international students
  • Keep other staff up to date on program enrolment
  • Facilitate all student arrivals and departures at the airport
  • Complete other administrative tasks as they arise supporting all short-term programs and the boarding program at Bodwell if necessary
  • Requirements:
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Proven experience in an administrative role working with a variety of stakeholders
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in an intense fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, efficiency and organizational abilities
  • Strong computer competency including use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with money or other financial management
  • Ability to commit to long-hours during the program implementation period (July 5 – August 3)
  • Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Experience in staff management (asset)
  • Able to speak other languages (asset)
  • Experience working with ESL youth and/or in a camp setting (asset)
