Job Summary

Service BC is an organization of over 500 employees working in 65 communities performing 1000s of service transactions for citizens and businesses every day. Service Practice and Policy (SPP) is an integrated team dedicated to guiding and supporting the professional practice of service across the Division. Through policy, standards, practices, learning, research and tools SPP supports the continuous improvement of public-facing services.
The Practice Consultant is a part of an integrated team dedicated to the continuous professionalization of the Division's practice of service. Consultants may serve a number of service areas and/or service channels and will be asked to respond to the concerns and needs of Customer Service Representatives, Managers and Directors. The Practice Consultant is responsible and accountable for providing practice advice that will ultimately affect decisions and actions. This includes decisions and actions that can affect citizen's eligibility for accessing government services and incidents related to health and safety in Service Centres.
Job Requirements:
  • Degree in Human Resources, Adult Education, Public Administration, Business Administration or other related field and two (2) or more years *related experience; OR,
  • Diploma Human Resources, Adult Education, Public Administration, Business Administration or other related field in a related field and three (3) years *related experience; OR,
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Related experience in each of the following:
  • Experience conducting research and developing recommendations for management.
  • Experience conducting stakeholder/client consultations.
  • Experience analyzing client service, business processes and/or workflows.
  • Experience eliciting and documenting requirements, plans, processes, and creating documentation (e.g., standards, manuals, etc.).
  • Experience developing and facilitating training.
  • Experience working in, and with multi-disciplinary groups of service professionals.
  • Experience in a client/customer service environment.
  • Experience with and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.

Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Experience with data analysis.
  • Experience working in a public sector service delivery organization.

Proviso:
  • Occasional travel may be required within the service area.

About this Position:
