We have exciting full-time, part-time, and casual/on-call Support Worker opportunities for our adult group home located in the area of Penticon, BC!

The ideal applicant shall possess:

  • Knowledge and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health concerns, and behaviors
  • An understanding of the needs and barriers faced by individuals with various abilities
  • Command of English language with ability to communicate effectively and complete daily documentation
  • Ability to understand and follow health care plans, personal protocols, schedules, and activities
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures, including health and safety policies
  • Ability to offer physical assistance such as personal care/hygiene for all genders
  • An understanding of the difference between creating independence vs. creating dependence
  • Competence to safely accompany/transport individuals to appointments and activities in the community
  • Knowledge and experience with community resources, integration, and teaching life skills
  • The physical ability to perform all the duties required of the position

Job Requirements include:

  • Class 4 or 5 BC Driver’s License required and clean driver’s abstract (Required)
  • Minimum of 1-year experience (or combination of education and experience)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (2-doses required)
  • Criminal Record Check (Required)
  • Hub Clearance
  • Negative TB test
  • First Aid and CPR
  • MANDT Certificate
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Other requirements that may be specific to the individual served.

NOTE: If you do not have all of the certifications indicated above, but demonstrate a good fit for the position, Strive may be able to assist you to acquire some of these requirements.

Compensation: $25.05/hour
