Job description

Description

Hey! We’re Musora, home to music lessons and entertainment for drums, piano, guitar, and singing – serving more than 90,000 students around the world. And we’re looking for new teammates to join the team and contribute towards our mission to create more musicians and keep them playing longer.
We’re looking for an Advertising Director to lead our advertising strategy, campaigns, and team. This role is responsible for ideating and executing advertising strategies to increase leads, trials, and revenue while maintaining a healthy return on ad spend. Basically, we’re looking for an advertising powerhouse. You’ve got creative ideas and can drive action to build effective ad campaigns.

You will lead the advertising strategy and performance while collaborating with a team that includes copywriting, video, graphics, photography, media buying, and performance reporting. You’ve got the resources, but we’ll be counting on you to drive the results. The right candidate should already have experience in leading successful advertising campaigns. And you’ve probably failed a bunch, too. You love researching to find new audiences or ideas, you’re always adding inspiration to your swipe file, and you enjoy scribbling out headlines or slogans or emailing yourself some copy. You understand storytelling, psychology, and conversion.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

This role requires you to:
  • Be strategic - Define the objectives, key results, priority projects, roadmap, and campaign ideation.
  • Build Campaigns - Lead the charge to gather the assets you need including creative briefs, copywriting, photography, graphics, video, landing pages, offers, and beyond.
  • Write Lots - Advertising only works if the copy is compelling. You should love copywriting and enjoy writing headlines, short form, long form, slogans, video scripts, and CTAs.
  • Drive Growth - Connect regularly with the advertising team, brand teams, and conversion team to scale our best opportunities.
  • Have Fun - We have the privilege of inspiring musicianship and changing lives through music. We love what we do and try our best to bring joy to our work.
You will:
  • Identify the best opportunities for advertising spend and growth.
  • Set the vision for campaign quality, story, and execution.
  • Lead and mentor the project-based team for copywriting, graphics, and videography.
  • Collaborate with Brand Teams for ideation, positioning, offers, opportunities, and copy.
  • Collaborate with our media buying & performance reporting teams.
  • Connect 1-to-1 with your advertising team to mentor and grow their careers.
  • Refine the advertising team’s vision and implement improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal obligations and company policies and processes.
Metrics:
  • Ad Quality (CTR, thumbstop, video retention)
  • Conversion (Leads, Trials, Direct Revenue)
  • ROAS (cost per lead, cost per trial, cost per sale – combined return)
  • Growth (scaling spend)
