Expected Salary Range: $70,177.00 - $87,722.00 - $109,652.00
Our typical hiring range will be +/- 10% of the midpoint shown above

We operate national and provincial lotteries in partnership with 3500 retail partners, provide the games, technology & oversight to 37 brick & mortar casinos, and operate a safe secure and 100% legal online gambling presence PlayNow.com. In our recently completed fiscal year, BCLC generated a record $1.636 billion in net income to the Province of B.C. to support First Nations, local host governments, health care, education and community programs across the province.
The Team
Joining the People & Culture (P&C) team at BCLC means you'll be working with a trusted, passionate, hard working, employee focused team of professionals who are committed to putting people at the heart of everything we do. We focus on developing and implementing world class P&C strategies, programs and practices across Talent Management, Organizational Development, Rewards & Recruitment, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, and Corporate Strategy.
Our People Operations team drives the employee experience at BCLC. We advise our people through life and career events, moments that matter, and ensure People & Culture programs are executed consistently across our business.
The Role
This role is instrumental in delivering the P&C employee experience strategy by supporting the ongoing requirements of the business units while ensuring a positive employee experience. This role will work closely with the greater P&C team and assigned client groups by supporting employees and leaders with understanding P&C policies, procedures and practices. The People and Culture Advisor will support leaders and employees through workplace investigations, conflict resolution, disability management and other areas of the employee lifecycle.
What you will accomplish
  • You will build relationships with business leaders and employees within your assigned client groups and be their trusted business partner through all People & Culture related needs
  • You will provide innovative solutions, advice, coaching and case management in workplace investigations, disciplinary procedures, performance management, attendance management, prepare summaries and recommendations as required up to and involving involuntary terminations
  • You will collaborate with other People & Culture teams to deliver on People & Culture services and support business objectives in a timely and efficient manner
  • You will provide exceptional customer service and ensure client needs are met
  • You will support the implementation of People & Culture programs, provide input into department plans, programs and strategies and support with cross functional projects
What will make you successful
  • You're a strong communicator, able to influence, communicate clearly and build relationships with all levels within the organization
  • You are a leader and subject matter expert for your client group in execution of People & Culture programs such as objective setting, continuous feedback and the performance review process
  • You are a problem solver with proven experience to deliver innovative, best practice People & Culture solutions
  • You maintain your knowledge with human rights and employment standards legislation, and are comfortable interpreting and providing guidance following legislation and policy
  • You are a proactive self starter, with a strong ethical compass, able to operate with both a strategic and operational lens

  • You come from a large enterprise environment with demonstrated experience developing class leading people programs & practices in a non-union environment
