- Serve as a role model in the areas of safety, environmental stewardship, leadership, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors
- Assist area management in planning, coordinating and supervising production activities
- Validate and match physical inventories
- Data entry for production entries in SAP (plant and production reports)
- Work closely with managers and foremen on pit and plant optimization
- Participate and support foremen regarding safety and production tracking and targets
- Participate in monthly meetings outlining improvement opportunities
- Coordinate with sales, project managers, quality control personnel, and plant production on project details, scheduling, and problem resolution
- Assist in developing strategies and objectives for sales, pricing and profitability
- Carryout plant and site inspections for quality assurance
- Assist structural and slope inspections for identifying potential hazards
- Works closely with Operations Manager, Land Manager, Area Managers, Equipment Manager, Mining Engineer and Foremen
- Liaisons with Management, Environment, Safety, Finance and other departments.
- Recent graduate of Bachelor of Science in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- Interest in a long-term career in business, engineering, and construction with a goal to pursue P. Eng. or CET designation.
- Strong computer technical aptitude to learn new systems and programs
- Ability to make rational decisions and resolve conflict
- A team leader with excellent negotiation, communication and people skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter / Problem solver / Self-disciplined
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills
- Confidence to work independently, safely, and travel to remote gravel pits
- On-site construction experience would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) would be considered an asset
