This is a remote position and can be based anywhere in the United States close to a major aiport

The Application Specialist is responsible for providing clinical domain expertise to Agfa HealthCare in order to deliver professional services to the Agfa Enterprise Imaging customer. These services will include, but are not limited to:
  • Analysis of clinical workflow in a variety of Enterprise Imaging product modules
  • Training of clinical end-users on Agfa product lines ( PACS, Cardio, mapping & reporting)
  • Building mentoring relationship with customer to establish successful adoption of the product.
Major Decisions:
  • Determining the clinical needs that customer is hoping to fill by the use of Enterprise Imaging products.
  • Assessing how customer requests are related to good clinical practice.
  • Determining if appropriate level of staff training is achieved.
  • Determining if customer reported complaints are either rooted in clinical, technical issues or training issues.
  • Works under limited supervision and with frequent travel commitments.
Job Duties & Accountabilities:
  • Trains customers on the features/functions of our Enterprise Imaging products (PACS, Cardio, imaging and reporting).
  • Clinical workflow analysis to generate site specific requirement documents, as well as a collection of data samples where needed
  • Uses clinical domain expertise to encourage the use of good clinical practice and standards when implementing our products at a customer site
  • Clearly defines intended product uses for the customer.
  • Provide initial evaluation of customer product enhancement/customization requests and associates these to clinical needs.
  • Provides initial evaluation of technical problems that impede clinical product use; this includes initial communication with service/support.
  • Documents customer requests for report customization. Communicates the scope and appropriateness of customizations to appropriate regional and global implementation staff.
  • Maintains clinical domain expertise and appropriate professional certifications through continuing education programs.
  • Maintains current knowledge of clinical and technical components necessary for the use of our products.
  • Provides documented feedback on customer requests and product enhancements
  • Documents travel and business related expenses as required by regional policy
  • Participates in additional tasks and projects as needed.
  • Up to 85% travel required, weekend travel will be required.
  • Ability to travel within the US primarily, Canada and abroad on occasion
  • Ability to work well in various fast paced environments (office, hospital, and clinical).
Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred. Certification and current registration in clinical specialty (Radiology or Cardiology) required.
Experience:
  • 3+ years in clinical healthcare specialty.
  • Recent clinical experience desirable.
  • Work experience in academic hospital setting strongly preferred.
  • Active certification as a Radiology or Cardiology Technologist.
Specific skills:
  • Strong clinical experience in PACs and cardiology specialty, with continuing exposure to clinical trends/developments through continuing education programs. Depth of clinical experience will serve as the backbone for the position's responsibilities.
  • Ability to understand information technology terms and read technical documentation.
  • Strong Communications Skills; oral presentation and written documentation
  • Strong interpersonal abilities
  • Professional and able to work with all aspects of the organization, sales, support, deployment
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills, including working under tight deadlines and with quickly changing priorities.
  • Ability to adhere to predefined processes
  • Ability to work independently, relying on clinical and technical judgment.
