Asphalt Labourer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Asphalt Laborer to join our road repair and maintenance crew. As an integral part of our team, you will work on various projects, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in repairing roads and maintaining infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and remove traffic control devices and flagging to ensure the safety of the work zone and the general public.
• Lift, carry, and place heavy objects and materials up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.
• Operate in outdoor conditions, adapting to various weather situations while maintaining a high level of productivity.
• Work directly with asphalt: laying, spreading, and compacting asphalt materials to repair roads and construct pavements.
• Collaborate with the team to efficiently complete projects on time, adhering to specified standards and regulations.
• Conduct equipment and tool maintenance, ensuring they are in safe and good working condition.
• Follow all safety guidelines and practices to prevent incidents and ensure the safety of the crew and the public.

Qualifications:

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform labor-intensive tasks.
• Experience in road construction or asphalt work preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Willingness to work in outdoor conditions
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work sites.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Salary: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
