Job Purpose:
Responsible for assisting in the development of the short and long-term strategic brand plans, specific accountabilities in brand activations across all channels. This person will report and work closely with the Associate Director of Marketing to successfully execute all consumer and shopper activities promoting Barilla’s brand equity and profitable growth in the market. Split: 80% B2C brand marketing/ 20% B2B Food Service marketing.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in development of the Short and Long-term Strategic Brand Plans:
  • Leverage brand, consumer and marketplace data to recommend marketing objectives, strategies and activities for the 1 year Brand Plan (aligned with 5 Year Strategic Brand Roadmap and learning from previous years).
  • Support manager in preparing formal business presentations (ie. Business Reviews, CEO presentations) with a second perspective on brand and market insights.
  • Deploy strategic vision for Omni channel plans including ecommerce
  • Support in all launch related initiatives and communication, including research, packaging, product development, launch presentations and information to sales:
  • Brief the media & local agencies and manage the development and execution of integrated media plans, adaptation and development of creative assets for TV, digital, social media and promotional programs
  • Coordinate all initiatives with external agencies (media buy, PR, social media, artwork…) and internal cross-functional team
  • Develop presentations (launch decks), tools, sell sheets and cycle kit materials for the retail sales team and Food Service
  • Coordinate packaging/artwork design development for channel specific needs. Coordinate with Marketing Service US and Italy our annual packaging plans and other related needs. Key support managing all routing to achieve deadlines.
  • Analyze data to uncover key insights and provide fact-based recommendations that support consumer and customer initiatives and drive portfolio profitability and growth across channels (Retail, E-commerce and Food Service):
  • Complete regular performance analysis using all available data (Nielsen NIQ, Datassential, etc.), as well as competitive analysis
  • Analyze programs and activities against their objectives to evaluate & report back on the impact on the business
  • Project management for Innovation support and portfolio optimization (Retail, E-commerce and Food Service):
  • Support Manager in developing Business case leveraging all available consumer research and data: competitive analysis, pricing and promo strategy, positioning, forecasting (size of the prize), P&L assessment, etc.
  • Minimize complexity by maximizing sku penetration within channels (Phase & Gates editing and management)
  • Track and monitor performance, recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Perform administrative responsibilities associated with portfolio management (e.g. codes requests, GS1/Eccnet).
  • Support shopper marketing & experiential execution:
  • Collaborate across internal teams (Field Sales, Procurement, and Supply Chain) to develop and manage display tools execution
  • Support the execution of film festival sponsorship including booth with chef, staff etc for food sampling and consumer engagement
  • Responsible for budget management and optimization.
  • Co-manage and Coach Summer intern (typically within May-Aug)

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Marketing Communications and/or Business Management required
  • Minimum of 3 years of marketing experience required with a minimum of 2 years in a Tier-1 CPG company
  • Demonstrated strong proficiencies in marketing analysis (for example, Nielsen NIQ Business Reviews)
  • Digitally and ecommerce savvy (social media, digital, SEO/SEM)
  • Demonstrated track record of initiative, innovation, and creativity
  • Natural leadership and business skills, demonstrated in academic and/or extracurricular activities
  • Passion for results
  • Shopper marketing experience is considered a strong asset
